We spent the evening at aunty restie’s, at first very sad and tearful and hurt. As hours went by, I noticed our change - how cousins and siblings can reflect off each other, how we’ve become so close that we know when to stay silent, and when love makes us feel the slightest bit better. We got lots of laughs in, not because we don’t care, but because of the way we were raised. The way we grew up together, we all know that if we stick together, if we stay together and just talk, we know that those who pass aren’t really gone, they’re actually much closer to us now. We’re all connected, and laughing shows apo and ingkong how much love there is around us, how much love we have for each other. We’re strong, but we can break down, and that’s okay. What’s important is that we see what’s around us, near or far, appreciate it every single day, and not take advantage of the love that’s given.
